OUR PHILOSOPHY​

We are passionate about providing functional, efficient communication and learning systems for students with special needs, allowing them to interact with others and access the curriculum as independently as possible. We have extensive experience  supporting the use of AAC  and AT among students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities.

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Our team works with families, educators, school districts and support staff to implement best practices for students with complex communication and learning needs using a multi-modality approach which may include no-tech, low-tech and high-tech tools and strategies based on the unique needs of the individual.

AAC/AT EVALUATIONS AND CONSULTATIONS

We conduct AAC/AT evaluations which include:

  •  a dynamic, comprehensive and collaborative assessment:​

    • observation across settings​

    • file review

    • interviews with family, teacher, support staff, service providers

    • formal and informal testing

    • trials with a variety of tools and strategies 

    • analysis of skill sets

  • training staff and family

  • developing  an AAC/AT Implementation Plan in collaboration with the IEP team

We are also available to consult with IEP teams and families to assist in implementing AAC/AT systems which are already in place.
